Professional Education and Training

JDC Global Human Resources Development strives to support the JDC professional staff by actively encouraging them to stretch their professional capabilities and grow as individuals. Together, we develop programs and resources, which build and expand upon the variety of experience and wisdom across JDC, leading to heartfelt commitment and creative excitement in fulfilling the mission of the organization.

Following are some examples of JDC professional education and training approaches, which are designed to help, encourage, and teach JDC’s quality professionals to continually excel and grow.

The JDC Ambassador Milton A. Wolf Training Institute is held annually and offers a range of courses and seminars for all professional staff. Teaching faculty are drawn from both inside and outside JDC. The institute has become recognized as JDC’s “corporate university.” During the week at the institute, the curriculum is structured to facilitate maximum opportunities for productive interchange between staff from different regions and to facilitate cross-fertilization of ideas and sharing of best practices.

JDC Oxford Seminars allows for senior management to engage in real-life management dilemmas from both within and beyond JDC’s organizational experience and to learn with top experts in the field. These seminars, developed in collaboration with the JDC International Centre for Community Development, run throughout the year in Oxford, England.

The JDC Professional Fellowship program offers a meaningful way to take a break from day-to-day operational responsibilities while including an opportunity for professional renewal.

Kav Limmud facilitates engagement with JDC’s global staff. Kav Limmud offers the opportunity for staff to hear firsthand—via international phone conference—from a variety of experts involved in areas relevant to the work of JDC.
