The world’s largest Jewish campus organization, Hillel provides opportunities for Jewish students to explore and celebrate their Jewish identity through its global network of more than 500 regional centers, campus foundations, and student organizations. In the former Soviet Union (FSU), the 27 Hillel centers that JDC has helped to establish play a key role in Jewish renewal efforts. They have succeeded in expanding Jewish knowledge and fostering Jewish commitment among university-age Jewish students, while encouraging their involvement in the wider community with programs like the legendary Pesach Project and other holiday initiatives.

JDC has taken the North American Jewish community center model and adapted it to suit the needs of a variety of different Jewish communities overseas.
